Mine is about 4 foot but there is a winch on each side for the jib sheet and
since the jib sheet is always on the winch on the low side, if needed the
traveler line can be pulled up using the high winch.... and also the traveler
is big enough to have a good block and tackle system built into it....

Remember I said "not exactly".... and does he have a wheel (can't stick that
between your legs and steer while controlling a spinnaker sheet in each
hand).... and how did he steer the boat, put up the pole, raise the spinnaker
halyard, and set the sheets at the same time

The ST 4000 (for wheels) is about $900 to $1000 .... West Marine or any of
the big marine stores... it is made by Raytheon. It can steer by a magnetic
course or (if you have an apparent wind gauge) a magnetic course plus wind
direction....
Look in the West Marine catalog, they give a good description of it.... also
it will do tacks, and warns when you are off course by a set number of
degrees...
It's a great toy and is great if you are short of crew.... but remember you
can't use them in races.... and if YOU are having troubles sailing the boat
due to wind or seas... the autohelm will also have problems...
