* Prodigy Internet Chosen as Top ISP in 2 leading magazines! *
(1) Music In Education
(2) DSP/FX Version 2.0 Ships
(3) WinSpeakerz Design Program
----------------------------------------
It shows that a lot of hard work
does pays off.
The news in April was Prodigy Internet product
reviews.
The May issue of The Net magazine proclaimed
that Prodigy Internet "came out on top"
after they reviewed ten online services and
Internet Service Providers.
The May issue of PC Magazine said that
Prodigy Internet "is an excellent choice
for a new user..."
In fact, of the four major online services
PC Magazine reviewed, they only recommended two
-- and Prodigy Internet was indeed one of them.
If you're already using Prodigy Internet, you have
excellent judgment.
If you haven't tried Prodigy Internet yet,

DSP/FX version 2.0 is now shipping.
DSP/FX is a PC hardware/software system that
implements true pro quality realtime effects such
as reverb, pitch shift, chorus, flange and others.
In addition to functioning as a traditional effects
processor with analog an digital I/O's, the 2.0
version of DSP/FX also performs real-time processing
of WAVE files. In reviews in the leading recording
magazines, the quality of the DSP/FX effects has
been rated up with the best rack mount systems available.
DSP/FX makes a nice companion to any PC based
recording system.
It can run side by side with the DAW program (Cakewalk,
SAW, Sound Forge, Wavelab, Digidesign, etc.),
allowing you to put effects on while tracking or
doing your final mixdown.
With the new WAVE file processing, you can now
also process individual tracks with real-time output monitoring.
See your closest DSP/FX dealer or call 1-800-778-6761
to order.

True Audio announces the release of WinSpeakerz v2.0
"The Speaker Design Toolbox" for Windows 95.
WinSpeakerz is a loudspeaker simulation program
which can be used to predict the performance
of a loudspeaker system before the system is
actually constructed. By performing simulations
before taking saw to wood designers can build highly
optimized speaker enclosures on the first try.
Just as a pilot can polish his aviation skills
using a flight simulator, speaker designers can
polish their skills using this loudspeaker simulator.
WinSpeakerz can shows the precise audio performance
that can be achieved by any loudspeaker driver
placed in a number of different enclosure types. It
can show you the Frequency, Phase, Group Delay,
Excursion, and Impedance responses of any combination
of loudspeaker driver and enclosure that you
specify, whether closed or vented. For Bandpass
type enclosures, it can show you the Frequency and
Excursion responses. The frequency scale in the plot
window is fully adjustable over the range from 1 Hz
to 100 kHz. The range of each response type is also
variable over a wide range. This plotting
flexibility allows users to customize their
data plots and printed reports for each project.
The new version adds the ability to simulate l
loudspeaker diffraction loss which causes a loss of bass
when speakers are placed away from the walls of the
listening room.
Also new in version 2.0 is the ability to model a
speaker's response in an auto cabin environment.
This new feature can also be used to show the effect of the
listening room on very low bass response.
One surprising result of these new simulations is the
ability to design closed box loudspeakers for auto cabin
use where flat response is achieved to below 20 Hz.
Unlike speaker design programs which model auto
cabin effects as a fixed response, WinSpeakerz 2.0
allows the designer to specify both the corner
frequency and the Q of the vehicle transfer function.
The closed and vented box algorithms have been further
refined to show the effects of a series resistor on the various
system responses.
This new feature allows the true effects of speaker cable
DC resistance to be modeled very accurately.
There are numerous smaller improvements throughout the
new version, such as the ability to automatically
generate an array of possible response curves
and save the array to the 10 system memories
for review by the designer.
Version 2.0 now prints shop drawings for each of the box
calculators. With the addition of a new preferences page
it is now easier for the user to enter his company
information (which appears in an engineering title block
on each printed report).
Along with this release the company has announced
a change in name from True Image Audio to True Audio
and a new address on the web. You can now locate
True Audio at: http://www.trueaudio.com.
Visitors to the web site can order
WinSpeakerz or MacSpeakerz (the company's Mac OS product),
download evaluation versions, and browse our
new collection of Speaker Topics, technical discussions
of loudspeaker design topics.
