When you exit your mailer to trigger the OS/2 session, just before the
START command create a flag file "rem >flag.fil", then when
your mailer tries to return and continue have it look for the flag file
"if exist flag.fil goto loop" and loop back to check, keeping
this up as long as the flag file exists. Then have your OS/2 session delete
the flag file "del/q flag.fil" as the very last thing before
quitting, definitely _after_ the modem is released.

Of course, you can always use two modems. :)
