subject: drive problem repair?

-> JB> their cheap printers are overpriced and expensive to run.
-> JB> dunno about their better models...

-> Yeah, the consensus seems to be that if I get an older office-type model then
-> I would probably be okay, as long as consumables were still available for
-> it...

-> I'm in no hurry to get a printer here.

 IF you are thinking Laser printers and buying an older model HP is the
ONLY ay to go. The toner cartridges are widely avaialble for models back
to the LaserJet II model. Something that Cannot be said for the
competition they had in those days.
 And while the price of $60 to $90, depending on what model you
have, sounds High the Price per page printed is as low as it gets.
 I myself perfer the HP 5P or 6P becaue it has a IR port I can use with
my laptop.
