I have never seen any Computer Company Twist ones arm to Buy their
Prduct. They just put it out, advertize it, and the Customer of his Free
Will and Choice buys it. 
And HP and Compaq have been very priority locking you into "What you see
is What you Get" from the very beginning of their PC business.

 Sorry I touched your "HOT" button but I just don't see the Argument
about HP/Compaq, It is not like they went pripority recently..
