PE> Hey David Begley! Did you know that sunny Queensland is perfect
PE> one day and perfect the next?
db> I've been through once, and actually stayed there once for a week; didn't
db> seem any different to staying on the NSW North Coast, to be honest. :-)
They've got this Hollywood something-or-other up there now too,
with all sorts of BRILLIANT things to do. Fairy floss to eat
too. And there's Currumbin, where swarms of lorikeets come down
to eat food which you provide, and you have them standing all
down your arms, all over the bowl, and on your head and shoulders
etc. Then there's Jupiter's Casino, great atmosphere I'm told.
Then there's the general atmosphere of the Gold Coast, and the
legends of millions of chicks wandering around full of lust.
Admittedly I always turn up on their day off, but normally, it's
really great. There's the Big Pineapple to go and visit.
Certainly no end of things that will take a week to do. Visit
the Expo site too. Check out China Town. Get mugged in Brunswick.
Or is that Fortitude Valley only?
PE> A great spot for a one-week holiday. Go on - you deserve a break!
db> Thanks! :-)
So when can you get leave?
db> Realistically though, doesn't NetComm have a Brisbane office?
I don't know.
db> If they're willing to help you track down this (and Dieter's) problem,
db> maybe their Brisbane office can oblige?
And maybe they're as useful as USR, which is why we're doing it
ourselves.
db> Otherwise, I think you'll have to wait a few months before I'd be willing
db> to travel back to QLD.
A few as in 3? So June 3rd. Ok, assuming our lines remain
the same over the next 3 months, which they probably will, we'll
have an answer. And if the answer is 2 Netcomm's work fine, 2
USRs work fine, but USR to Netcomm doesn't, then we have a
problem - which modem, if any, is violating protocol. So who's
going to put this famed USR support to the test?
It would help if you could see your way to taking an earlier
break David. You've been working hard enough already, no? There
is a risk that I will change modems before the 3 months is up.
I'll ask in Netcomm support if anyone is in Brisbane.
BFN. Paul.
