Seem to be having difficulty getting anything higher than the usual 33.6k connects, after upgrading my 20.16mHz Courier ROM to X2. Have tested and run Diagnostics after connections to the USR BBS and Bob Juge's two I-modem BBS lines. I keep getting a strange report of "X2 status Unspecified negotiation failure". What does that mean, besides the obvious? I also notice something odd.. When I connect to a Non X2 BBS at V34+, diagnostics reports V42bis and LAPM. But when I connect to X2 sites, diagnostics reports MNP5. Hmmm.. Please forgive the length of this message with diagnostics that might help someone in Online support see a problem with my modem... Also, maybe it should be known that I can use either Win95 or OS/2, but these diagnostic sessions were done with either HyperAccessLite or Livewire for OS/2 WARP 4.0, com port 115,200, and I use a registered SIO Com driver locking my comm port at 115,200 instead of the default OS/2 comm driver.
