or run an extension cord for the UPS while it is on battery and then plug
it into the cord giving more time to find the problem with the original
outlet ;)

i've actually moved running computers from one location to another without
shutting them down... the only concern was that the battery in the UPS
lasted for the trip or that there was a power supply at some midpoint of
the trip... in this case i'm thinking of, it was only across town so maybe
15 minutes... one has to definitely be careful performing a feat like this
