2 Egg whites
1 1/2 tb Vegetable oil
1 tb Sugar
1/2 ts Anise seeds
1/4 c Ehole wheat flour
2 1/4 c Bread or unbleached flour
2 ts Vital gluten, optional
1 1/2 ts Active dry yeast

1 18 c carrote, peeled,
Grated
1 Egg
OR
2 Egg whites
2 tb Vegetable oil
2 tb Sugar
1 ts Salt
3/4 ts Anise seeds
1/2 c Whole wheat flour
3 1/4 c Bread or unbleached flour
1 tb Vital gluten, optional
2 1/2 ts Active dry yeast

These bagels are quick to make beacuse they omit the boiling step. A
change of pace from chewy grain bagles, these are good for breakfast
and a perfect accompaniment to other meals as well. Try them in mini
sizes, 12 to 14 from the larger recipe.
After the second rise, DO NOT BOIL. Bake in a 350f. oven for about 20
minutes or until golden brown.
