I'm not sure exactly how they were ranked, but the factors listed were Price
(filter and cartridge), Capacity, Organics, Lead, Taste, Parasites (yes or no
only) and Flow Rate. They tested (separately) Carafe, Faucet-Mounted,
Countertop, Under-Sink and Reverse-Osmosis models.
Regarding the Under-Sink models, the first six were not ranked real close
together. The top-rated Rainsoft had almost a perfect score (shown by graph
only, not by number). The Teledyne IF-10A was rated "Good", just below "Very
Good". Just looking at the graph, I'd estimate the Rainsoft as having a
score of about 95 (out of 100), with the Teledyne at about 58.
