| subject: | Re: Turbo Pascal to OS/2 Pas |
Hej Terry! Friday August 30 1996, Terry Ogaki writes to Jerry Lapham: [VP/2 v1.1] TO> I see... Um... Does this new version also support Inline etc??? TO> I've got a version here, that doesn't work with some of my current TO> programs; especially those using ASM for the comm routines :( Neither SP/2 not VP/2 support the inline() statement from Borland Pascal, for the obvious reason that these statements insert 16-bit opcodes directly into the program - this will not work under OS/2. I would suggest rewriting the routines in Pascal - VP/2 optimizes the resulting code much better than Borland Pascal and the benefit of writing it in asm are relatively small. Alternatively, rewrite it as 32-bit assembler code in asm.. end statements - this is both easier to read and easier to maintain. Yours, Allan --- GoldED 2.50+* Origin: Gravity is a myth: Earth Sucks!
