TM> From ESPNET:
TM> Not so Brave
TM> Time Warner's TBS will likely lose its right to broadcast Atlanta
TM> Braves games, reports Variety. This potentially devastating news for
TM> TBS comes from Dave Almsted, senior VP of acquisition rights for the
TM> Fox Sports Networks, who says ESPN and Fox's FX, both of which share
TM> an exclusive national cable package of Major League Baseball games,
TM> are negotiating a dramatic phase-out of Braves games on TBS.
Did they explain how it is that TBS (which is owned by Time-Warner) can lose
it's right to cablecast its own games, which (I don't think ) are covered by
MLB agreement? I mean, the Dodgers, Cubs, Mets, Red Sox, and a host of other
ML teams all have their games on cable, and I don't think they are losing
THEIR rights.
I can't see how some executives from rival networks can have the power to
"phase out" the rights of executives from another network.
Go figure.
