a) yes. (even some of the machines are connected via a LAN and use the same EXE
b) i've found some people on compuserve who also tested the code and found
both of the results
c) Roger Pett (Visual Age development) informed me, that they have seen
similar problems reslated to some device drivers playing around with the
NPX control word. 

but nothing definitly.

PS: i've found a workaround in the meantime. I do a _control87(0,MCW_EM) at
the begin of all my programs (this statement just READS the control word!).
