Don't worry about that. A color monitor would be nice, but not
essential.

I urge you to check out the Shareware PowerbASIC 3.2 compiler. I does
have a number of nice features that QBasic doesn't have.
Next, get a book, or take a class in BASIC. Knowledge makes it all a
bit less of a mystry.
When you are ready to start. Pop a question in the echo, turn the
crank,and see what comes out. [grin]
