I think Luke let the traditional Jedi Order die. I think anyone seen as a
"knight of the white" or "the light side" is called a Jedi.

I personally think Luke is "the last Jedi" and whatever Rey becomes will
be the next evolution, but I could be wrong. I think that's how Lucas
would have taken it, but now that Disney is in control they might try to
stick with formulas that work rather than stretch out the artistry.
