Thanks for all this. I might have bought live-that-are-almost-
dead. There was a trace of water in the bottom of the tub,
although the twigs do look dormantly-dead.
I have given them two separate night's soaking, and will cut and
plant them today. If there is any sign of budding in the next two
weeks, I will assume that they are live. Else they can be made
into leadless-pencils for writing invisible messages (g!)
