subject: PKT format

Hello All.

Does anybody know what the format for *.PKT are. I have been thinking of
writing a scanner/tosser for the Windows environment, but I'm not sure how
to start.

If my understanding of the subject is right, I have to follow these steps:

1. Read the messages from a message base.

2. Make these messages to a common format (.PKT) with
the right address, flags and headers. Are there
   any oter common formats?

3. Compress these packets with a common compression
   utility (like ZIP)

4. Give them a name - what are the rules for these
names? - are there any, or does, they just have
   to be unique.

5. Send the files with a mailer to the node.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, so will source code, references and
resources (FTP/WWW)
