A bit earlier today, I happened to move my hub some, so I could see the lights on the front of it better, particularly the one that tells me that something is happening on the LAN... At that point I took notice that there were two lights lit on the front of it. This being a 16-port hub, there's a light for each machine that's got an active link, and I didn't at first think anything of it -- until I took notice of the fact that the two lights are 4 and 7. Only problem is, the two machines that are currently active on the LAN are plugged into jacks 3 and 6! That'd be the primary linux box, and the firewall/router. There's not even anything plugged in to jack number 7. Weird! :-) ---* Origin: TANSTAAFL BBS 717-838-8539 (1:270/615) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 270/615 150/220 379/1 106/1 2000 633/267 |
