Hi Paul,

PG> But it will not work on any UHF frequency that I have a crystal for.
PG> VHF-low and VHF-high work fine. Anyone have any ideas?
You say it doesn't work very well, but it is still a good scanner. I think
that's a contradiction in terms. The scanner may have only been
designed to work VHF low/high and not have UHF capabilities, even though it
uses crystals. Have you opened it to look inside? I had an RCA scanner which
used to have switches inside that would enable it to get VHF-lo/VHF-hi. You
had to change the switch to the appropriate band. I cannot remember if it
also got UHF or not, but it seems to me it did. But it's been a loooong
time ago.
By any chance are you using Radio Shack crystals in it? The BearCats must
have Bearcat crystals to work well. Radio Shack used to carry both kinds at
one time, Bearcat, and Everyones crystals. I can't tell you how many times I
was asked and told that the regular Radio Shack crystals will not work in
Bearcats.
Sorry I can't help you with the manual for it.
Bobbie
