FM> "Old" myths can become untrue as literal or historical but I see no
FM> reason to allegorize them and usually that is a distortion for no good
FM> reason.
WE> What looks like a fairy tale, is often expression of psychology,

I hate to disabuse you of a pet notion, William (grin) but a MYTH is NOT a
fairy tale. I thought that I'd aleady demonstrated that.
FM> To say that the world is headed for trouble and that you know why is
FM> tantalizing. Why now SAY why and how you are able to prophesy this?
FM> What are these events that will "get worse?"
WE> Green house. The polar ice cap is poised to slip into the ocean.
WE> Warming trends, dry out forests, causing uncontrolled fires to rage
WE> unabated for long periods of time, in addition to the usual burning of
WE> forests. So green house drying in accelerating release of CO2.
WE> Additionally, there is little hope of thwarting the logging companies
WE> greed. They are just too politically strong, even here in the US. Green
WE> house excesses will continue to acerbate erratic weather. This year of
WE> storms and floods is part of the battering that we are creating for
WE> ourselves.
Sounds QUITE reminiscent of the prophet Amos in one of the biblical
writings. He saw the way the wealthy people treated the poor and warned them
that they ought to "let justice roll down like waters."
George Carlin continues to be my remedy for all prognostications of cosmic
disaster. The earth MIGHT just be emitting a bored "ho hum" long after we
have prophesied the demise by first anthropomorphizing everything and then
deciding that when modern man is gone all reality will be lost. We still
don't know WHY the dinosaurs disappeared but we couldn't guarantee them that
they actually (chuckle) MISSED a whole lot.
Sincerely,
Frank
