subject: System name

G'day Paul,

Replying to a message of Paul Edwards to Jeff Green on 13/05/97:

JG>> What do you have as my system name in your 'systems' file? It will
 JG>> have to

PE> I do not have an /etc/systems file.

I didn't need one until I started calling two systems (you and Dialix)
either. Maybe you don't need it.

JG>> be changed to 'grntrs' for me to be able to connect to you via UUCP.

PE> Are you sure? I don't know where to put that, if it is true.

Yep. I'm sure that's what the fxuucico docs say. That doesn't mean they
apply to you :-) I couldn't call more than one UUCP system without a
'systems' file.

JG>> Note: This isn't my login name ie Ujeffg.

PE> Well, whenever I was in doubt, I put in Ujeffg. In actual fact, in
PE> one place I called you Ujeffg.scorpio.rosebay.com.au!!! I was hoping
PE> that after it was working, people who have a real internet address,
PE> could use that instead of the stuff that I made up. But I'm not sure
 PE> about that yet.

Not to worry. Once we start getting more than 10ms second connects, it'll
all work itself out quickly I believe.
