-> And I could "eat" the Datsun 510s and the Toyotas !!
-> 6,100-6,200 RPM in 1st, and 2nd ...
Cool. I own a '74 Standard Beetle. Got it real cheap 3 years ago. I got
the engine remanufactured by a VW racer friend of mine....bone stock.
But, soon enough, I installed Weber 34ICTs, a Pertronix ignition, VW
1.25:1 rocker arms and headers. Boy that bug rocks for the bolt-on stuff
I put on it. Buddies of mine said,"Yeah, but you're gonna have problems
when it gets cold." COLD? In Pensacola , Florida? Humph! But, when it
DID get into the 20s, that baby cranks just fine. I love those Webers!
The only sweat is that I'm gonna get rid of my beloved bug. I'm getting
a brand new car with an inheritance. I'm waiting on the money now, so,
every time I drive it, I treat it like it is the last time (as it well
may be). But I must sell it. I can't have a money pit laying around. I
hope I'll get over it. If not, I'll just have to GET A 1964
bug.....YEAH!....and do a resto-custom!!!....TO THE WALL!!!....YEAH!
Sorry. Kinda lost control. Oh well. I can truly say that from all of the
cars I've owned (including a badass custom '65 Mustang), that bug is
truly the coolest car ever.
