After keying all the cars in the lot, William had this to say to All:
WB> Are there any Mountain bikers left in here? If so--whats new?
I am here! I have never posted to this echo, but poke around in it once in a
while.
Where do you ride, what kind of bike?
Last year, after not being on a bike for about 15 years, I ran down to the
local bike store and bought a leftover '95 TREK 6500 Aluminum.
Before it left the shop, I had them upgrade the 'low end' Shimano Alivio
components to Deore-LX (not TOP 'o the line, but close at the time). I also
had them install a Rock Shox Quad 21r on front...
After several grueling rides down some ski mountains in Vermont, I
decided that my cheesey diacomp levers (and canti-brakes) were simply not
enough... Had to stop and cry (heheh) a few times due to the pain in my
fingers and forearms.
Skipping over the V-brakes, and upgrading my diacomp-7 levers and Deore-LX
cantis to (hold on to your wallets!)
!! Magura Hydraulics !! The Tomac model to be more precise.
Should be in this week! I am so excited I can't wait!
Now if I can get my L_A_Z_Y butt off this chair, out of the computer room,
and onto my BIKE things should really get exciting once again... :)
