I, a non-native English speaker, am not going to argue semantics with another non-native English speaker. FTS-5001 uses "obsolete" in the header of paragraph 5 and "deprecated" in the text regarding the identifier "CODEPAGE".
This was not challenged by the native English speaking members of the FTSC when FTS-5003 was published and that is good enough for me.
Other than that, FTS-5003 says:
"These indentifiers must not be used when creating new messages."
Despite the spelling error, this is clear enough for me.
