Hi, Dave.
DJ> For a rare ant man tale, get iron man 44 from 71, where he again
DJ> faces the scarlet beetle!
Hey, thanks for the tip! I'll be sure and look for this issue
the next time I'm downtown (too bad I can't dial in from home... or
I'd have gotten your message in time to look for it at the comic
convention I attended last Sunday. Oh well...).
As for other Ant-Man (and Wasp) appearances, I also have an issue
of "the Incredible Hulk" (#154 seems to ring a bell) which guest-stars
Hank & Jan... as does the first issue of "Captain Marvel" I ever read
when I was a kid (I forget the issue number... but it featured Ant-Man
& the Wasp preventing the Living Laser from killing a hospital-bound
Mar-Vell).
DJ> The Trimpe marvel features from 4 to 10 were'nt half bad.
I've got the entire runs of both "Marvel Feature" series... and
you're right, the Ant-Man stories were actually pretty good.
DJ> Poor Hank Pym, hes just never been given much solo chances since
DJ> 65, when his astonish run ended.
I agree... but I'd also extend those sentiments to each and every
one of Pym successors too (and the Wasp), which is too bad, IMO. If
used properly, a size-changing power could provide some really
interesting stories, in my opinion. Same goes for DC's the Atom.
Interestingly enough, my favorite Ant-Man appearances have had both of
'em doing something similar. Around the Kree-Skrull War, Hank Pym
took a fascinating exploration of the Vision's insides... and back in
"Iron Man" #125, Scott Lang did something similar with Iron Man's
armour (after a battle with the Hulk, Stark found himself trapped,
imobile and suffocating in his armour).
Talk to you later.
David
