Any advice or help with my grandfather from Aberdeen would be appreciated. He 
was George Morrison Mitchell (the IGI has 15 pages of microfiche of George 
Mitchells in Aberdeen!) and was born around 1879, if the family information 
is right.
He was a dental mechanic but his love of the bottle led my grandmother to 
leave him early on, and she was the only source of information about him. I 
don't take all she passed on as objective! George apparently drowned at sea 
off Aberdeen HArbour in or around 1928, having taken a boat out to fish (as a 
hobby/pastime). A body was found disfugured later. I say it was 1928 because 
my grandmother then appears to have waited seven years before remarrying, 
which suggests that he must have been presumed dead in 1936.
Where would I start to find information??? !!!
