The USR line test told me that my phone line would support x2. This
proved to be true. While I can't connect at 56K, I can and do connect to
the Internet at 46-48K all the time. Probably my local POTS line is the
limiting factor; I could never get 28K connections with the 28.8 modem I
had before I got the x2. Anyhow, downloads are more fun at 48K than at
24K.
MS> Therefore, I would have to say that the outlook for x2 isn't that

My guess would be that it is already quite lucrative for USRobotics.
MS> Possibly in time, just like many of the other technological
MS> advancements we've witnessed in our time, x2 will be just another walk

You are undoubtedly right, Michael, so why not enjoy the stroll while it
while it lasts? :)
Now just to be sure we are on-topic, I think x2/56K is the way for most
of us to go if we are in the market for a new modem because it seems to
me that the price has been dropping steadily since it's introduction.
