Just a note folks on this day after Christmas and hope everyone had a merry
Atari Christmas. I bought PITFALL for my boy not because he asked for it but
because the local Venture had their 'Super Tuesday' in-house special I
happened upon and got to buy PITFALL& FLIPOUT for halfprice of $30 each.
Having had Pitfall on the 2600 and spent any hours on it, I am absolutely
delighted with the upwards porting of it.
Likewise, I *finally* got a cd to replace my record of DARK SIDE OF THE
MOON and on the VLM I was positively wowed and delighted at the response to
it. I understand that that particular cd was used to tweak the VLM in its
writing and it sure shows marvelously better than most. My hat is STILL off
to the author on that feature of the cd rom. It just blows me away that the
buying public virtually knows nothing of its existence. (like when that
'gadget guru' jerk on the Today show glossed right over a non-running jaguar
to show off other video systems) Tis a pity, to be true, just as with my
mega ste that the rest of the world don't have a clue to what they have been
missing, but rather than get down, I am just happy that *I* have had the
opportunity to enjoy my Atari stuff as much as I have.
Bottom line from this user on the future of Atari is that although my stock
is worth a fourth of what i paid for it I still have hope that the company
continues. And hey, the Tramiels may have their heads up their respective
own 'hershey-hiways', I bet playing poker with them could make me rethink how
I play that game.
Best wishes to all, and keep on keepin' on!
Bill
