subject: Virtual Pascal v1.1 is shipping

Virtual Pascal for OS/2 v1.1 ships! London, 14 August 1996

fPrint UK Ltd has started shipping the new version of its widely
acclaimed software development tool, VP/2 v1.1. This version offers
a wide range of features for quickly developing superior 32 bit OS/2
software, and has already received rave reviews from the press.

"When it comes to compile speed and code quality, VP/2 qualifies for
the label "Turbo Fast"; Borland could not have done it any better.
VP/2 is a technically excellent product that has no problems with
competing against professional C++ compilers. In summary, this
comparison shows VP/2 as both the far better and more professional
product. The system as a whole rests on a solid foundation that
was created with much care and love for detail."
     - Toolbox, August 1996

"In brief, VP/2 is a Pascal compiler with a well-implemented,
productive IDE in which it makes fun to develop software.

... Even a program using Turbo Vision, with about 500kB of source
code was ported in less than an hour.

... The best of the problem-free porting process was, that the OS/2
version was faster and even smaller than the DOS version.

     Conclusion: Excellent"
     - PC Intern, August 1996

    - PM and text mode versions of the IDE included.
    - Runs on any 32-bit OS/2 version, v2.0 and later.
    - 14 different debugging views are availble, including: Watch,
Stack, Breakpoint, Log, Symbols, Units, Threads, Object Hierarchy,
CPU, Dump, Registers, FPU and Exceptions Windows.

    - VP/2 compatible version of TechnoJock's Turbo Toolkit included with
full source code on the CD.

  * Heaps of Examples
    - More than 100 examples included as executables with source code.
    - All examples from "The Art of OS/2 Warp Programming" have been
converted from C to Pascal and are included with source code.
    - The examples cover PM programming, text-mode programming, full-screen
graphics examples and use of the VP/2 compatible toolkits.
    - NEW! More advanced examples, demonstrating DIVE programming, Extended

In the near future...
Already in beta test is a VP/2 compatible version of BGI graphics,
using DIVE for fast screen writes. The beta version is compatible
with VP/2 v1.1 and is available from our ftp site.

Also, we continue working on converting the visual parts of the
Delphi Visual Component Library to Virtual Pascal for OS/2. Look
at the web site for updates, betas and demos of the VP/2 compatible
  VCL and a Delphi-style GUI!

TurboPower Software supports Virtual Pascal for OS/2
The VP/2 box includes a voucher that gives all customers a 20%

Co.! The discounts are valid for the extensive Object Professional,
ASync Professional and B-Tree Filer libraries.

VP/2 Demonstration Licence
A fully functional demonstration version of VP/2 v1.1 will shortly be
made available through online services. The demo version includes the
PM version of the VP/2 IDE, the compiler and a few examples. A static
version of the Run-Time Library as well as online help are not
  included.

The Run-Time Library along with support for Turbo Vision and the
MathPak87 Lite library will be included in one big DLL, and only the
interface sections of the source files will be included.

Programs compiled with the VP/2 Demo Licence will require the the Demo
