Both _beginthread() and DosCreateThread() return the same value: a TID. The other value you mention is the currently active thread. DosWaitThread() and DosKillThread() were thrown in there just to placate some magazine writer who said OS/2 wasn't as good as NT because these "important" apis were missing. They were missing because OS/2 was designed right the first time (and it turns out these extra baggage APIs don't work all that well anyway). I've never used either. Use semaphores instead; you have much more control. This makes even more difference under Merlin (or with the SIQ fix), since the system may start a thread behind your back (so you may get a DosWaitThread() notification from a thread you were not expecting) --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: Sol 3 * Toronto * V.32 * (905)858-8488 (1:259/414) SEEN-BY: 50/99 270/101 620/243 625/100 711/401 409 410 413 430 808 809 934 SEEN-BY: 711/955 712/407 515 624 628 713/888 800/1 @PATH: 259/414 400 99 250/99 3615/50 396/1 270/101 712/515 711/808 934 |
