Not yet.  The neocons are working on that.  We have a nascent police
state here.  Plus the administration has come up with a brand new term
"Unitary Executive," because having to work with the congress and the 
courts is too cumbersome and time consuming.  A "unitary executive,"
of course, is a dictator.

I've never had any desire to live there.  Switzerland, maybe, but I probably
couldn't afford it.  Scandinavia is too cold.

Does your government (or governments) actively (and secretly) try to snoop
through your personal financial transactions?  And telephone calls?  (Noting,
of course, that terrorism has been far more of a problem in Europe than it has
been here, and for a much longer time).
