MVDV> CS> Naw, you had it right first time. The WIN/SuSe box with the cable
MVDV> CS> modem connection.
MVDV>Right. So how will adding IP capability to your Fido
MVDV>computer compromise that Lifeline which is on another
MVDV>computer?
Lets not make this more complex than it is (grin). The BBS box is a
stand alone DOS 6.2 box with a standard modem and nothing else. It's
stable that way and all attempts to set it on a LAN, destabilize it just
enough to cause problems after a month or so of untended operation.
The other machine, with the IP connection, is stable also as long as I
do not muck with it too much (such as adding a BBS). I am testing BBSes
on it now and again, but havent settled on one. If i do, I will set it
up as a point and test it open style for callers and such. It's main
purpose though has to remain email and neopets access for the family
use.
