TM.RES is fine. However, usually a TM.Vnn file has an incorrect size.
Here's my latest SCANDISK.LOG
         Directory entry C:\COM\TELEMATE\TM.VM5 had an incorrect size.
         ScanDisk successfully corrected the directory entry.
This happens like when I have Telemate running for a long time.
