OK, I just looked on my hard drive from when we were testing, and it looks
like it is using something called .CRF. The test file I see used 830 KB as
a .WAV and 221 KB as a .CRF, so actually that's a lot better than cutting
it in half.
I didn't write the part that makes the recordings so I really don't know
anything about the API for it.
