\m\c in:--in:
BL> Ubobl: password

BL> I am using BobL as my "machine name in the uucp world" (whatever

You might find that you need to put Ubobl there instead, since I know
nothing about a BobL.

BL> that means), and it dials TML okay, but I'm not sure what you require
BL> as the login script. I used what they had in FXUUCICO "\m\c in:--in"
BL> but God knows what it means.

Well, that "in:--in:" somehow means "look for the last bit
of the word 'Login:'". Then you should reply Ubobl (NOT
"Ubobl:"!!!!). Then you are expecting my system to send the
string "password", and then you need to reply with your password,
which you have omitted.

So, the correct thing is:

in:--in: Ubobl password: freddy

Assuming "freddy" is your password.

BL> "Ubobl" is my login name (what you called
BL> me), and the password is what I use for Fido (all lower case).

BL> The 'g' in the string is the protocol, of which FXuucico has many
BL> including the original f, plus y, g, G and v. Which are you using?

I'm not sure which 'g' is the correct one. Whichever was the default, use
that one, probably lowercase.

BL> ... later

BL> Well, I called in at 8:00PM on Saturday and spent $2.50 trying to
BL> connect before I gave up.

Oh shit, I thought you had successfully connected!

BL> You don't seem to like my password. I tried
BL> the 'f' protocol and it made no difference and i tried everything I
BL> could think of, but it stalled at...

BL> scorpio! Login: Ubobl:
BL> password: ... and this is where it stalled

I'm not surprised. BTW, if you had used Telix etc to dial, you would have
seen this same login prompt, and you would have been able to try your name
and password a few times to see what was the correct thing to say at the
prompts. BFN. Paul.
