You'll get used to it.... and in high winds, the mechanical advantage is very
nice.... and at 34', a good breeze is what you need....
Besides, a wheel makes the cockpit a bit more roomy...

Everything I have is led back into the cockpit.... the main, jib, and
spinnaker halyards... the main ,jib, and traveler sheets.. the downhaul,
furling line and speed reef.... the only things up forward are the outhaul
and boom stay adjust.... I can single hand it easily if I just reef in the
jib to about 100% instead of using it at 150% ..... unfortunately, the
traveler is mounted on top of the doghouse, so sometimes the main is a
in...
