  Aarrgh! The problem at this end is the dopey "#! cunbatch" header.
I've got a hacked compress that handles it, and this is where it ought
to be done... while you'e got the file open decompressing. If you use
ZIP and add the header, I'll have to open every file and copy the
whole thing through, every bloody packet, before I can UNZIP. It's
almost the equivalent of doing it twice.
