Hello Donald.

22 Dec 04 00:10, you wrote to me:

DT> You can download the two igms from the following web-site page:

 DT> http://www.fidotel.com/public/camelot/lordapps.htm

I have these, downloaded from this URL 2+ days ago ...

 DT> system.

It might be Linux related, tho I doudt it, would a corrupt config file cause a
occurence like I described?

DT> There are however at least two glitches I can fix in Pawn Shop, so I
DT> will plan on reopening it for new development in January. The first
DT> glitch has been solved in the two angel-based igms I have in progress.
DT> By default, the ANGEL toolkit does not appear to allow games to have

DT> IGM with 900 minutes left from LORD, your bbs time left
DT> immediately gets reset downward to 180 minutes. According to Marty
DT> Blankenship, that is happening with other bbs door games that use
 DT> ANGEL toolkit.

Hmmm in all cases the user had more than 240 minutes time when he started the
game, a gamelasts 10-12 minutes normally, if no IGM's played ...

DT> The other glitch is that for some reason the IGM fails to reset any
DT> negative stats such as Gems during igm entry. So if you try to make a
DT> gems purchase, for example, the igm fails to let you buy any gems.
DT> For second example of code affected by that glitch, there is the
DT> Resurrect Dead Warriors event handled by Wendy. Even if you have
DT> enough gold to pay for the purchase, it won't be allowed if you have
DT> negative Gems. I'll look into what causes those situations and get
 DT> them fixed.

Hmm ....

DT> In meantime, be sure you are using the latest versions of my igms,
DT> either official versions or beta versions. I can only fix problems
DT> that exist in the current versions. If possible, using the same Lord
DT> files setup you currently have, try to reproduce
DT> the problems playing LORD in local mode, after booting your system
DT> from a dos start-up disk without the linux o/s being in use. I'm not
DT> into linux, so I don't know if that is possible. But if it is, and
DT> the problem does not re-occur under that setup, it would indicate a
DT> strong likelihood that Lord does not run well under Linux. And I am
DT> assuming you are using DOS Lord, since Lord/x's beta does not run igms
 DT> yet.

Running the latest versions of the igm's downled 2-3 days ago from you site.
It is not possible to test using a DOS boot disk, as DOS does not understand
the file system, but it would probably be possible to zip the directories, and
transfer them to a WIN98 system, and see what happens there.

Using LORD V 4.06 DOS

DT> So get back to me in email when you can with all information you can
 DT> supply. Thanks, Donald Tidmore.

Many thanks for your reply, it has given me something to consider, and think
about.

Am now prepared to sacrifice my last level 10 player to see if it will happen
again, especially after the newly created player has survived - in local mode.

Am looking forward to The Pawnshop working as it seems to be a very useful
place.

Again thank you for your time and the IGM's

Russell
