Maybe something got shorted somewhere or caused some power surge which blew an internal PS fuse? Just a thought - - FWIW, while bench testing multiple CDROM drives and trying to hot-plug in power connector to them, I've sometimes caused the testbed ATX PS to shut itself down, but the PS generally started working again after a few minutes cooling down period. The testbed has a good-quality PS - Astec as bir. Maybe a less expensive PS would have blown a fuse? - - - JimH. ...
