JS> I did this once before and got it to work... I cannot seem to get JS> fD2 to call out on a Vmodem port other that 23... now if I'm in the JS> terminal program I can type the address is.... it ATDT JS> joesbbs.no-ip.com 5190 and it works fine... but I cannot seem to JS> get the mailer to do it.... I had done some messing around in the JS> fdnode.ctl file and made things look like this... JS> joesbbs.no-ip.com[5190] but it pukes and doesn't call out... JS> ideas?? Is there a text file out there?? the last official FDFAQ is available at http://www.wpusa.dynip.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=13 however, i don't believe that it contains the info you are seeking... this info is different between OS/2 and winwhatever... on OS/2, i use environment variables to put in the info for those systems that my system calls via vmodem or telnet... ie: in my .BAT file... set 1:275/100=#fidotel.com 5190 then you put in an override in FDNODE.CTL... PHONE 1:275/100 $[1:275/100] you could put "#fidotel.com 5190" (without the quotes) in place of the $[] stuff but i find this a bit easier and only need to worry about available environment space... in my setup, running 4DOS and 4OS/2, i can also update domains and such by updating the text file i keep the info in... these textfiles are processed (via 4DOS and 4OS/2) by my system when it runs the set statements... after making changes to the list of statements, i simply cause FD to recycle thru the .BAT file... anyway, after setting up the above, recompile the nodelist to get the override in place... the # indicates that the call is to be a telnet call... for a vmodem call, one would use a 'V' or a 'v'... these work directly with the DIAL section in FDNODE.CTL, too... ie: DIAL 1010288-/ 1010288-011- ;internet stuff # internet 000- internet V internet# ;local numbers 1-919-258- 258- ; Broadway 1-919-498- 498- ; Olivia 1-919-499- 499- ; Olivia 1-919-708- 708- ; Sanford END the # indicates to FD that the call is an internet call... the V indicates that the call is a vmodem call... these are specific to the SIO/Vmodem package for OS/2... some folk have had some luck in doing this on the winwhatever platform with netmodem or similar winbased port emulators... however, there are differences in how the destination ports were specified... in the above, you can see that it is just seperated by a space... IIRC, those others wanted a ':' or something... i guess i need to add this info to the FRONTDOOR section of my forums so that it may be found and used... )\/(ark* Origin: (1:3634/12) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 3634/12 106/2000 633/267 |
