| subject: | set OS/2 FS video mode |
ET> I have already set the OS/2- and DOS windowed sessions and the DOS full ET> screen sessions to 100x40. I've a DOS program for the DOS sessions, but no ET> OS/2 program. I have set the OS/2 windowed sessions to 100x40 by running ET> mode 100 and maximized the session, and I've made that automatic. Now I ET> want that also for full screen OS/2 sessions. Problem 1: The OS/2 VIO subsystem probably doesn't know that your video card supports such a mode. You can see the list of supported modes and the corresponding register values in the \OS2\SVGADATA.PMI file. Problem 2: If problem 1 indeed exists, how do we tell OS/2 that your card supports a mode like that? i.e. Does anybody have any docs on the .PMI format? It seems pretty straightforward, but to make an editor for .PMI files one would need many sample files to make sure every option is available in the editor. Anybody care to (net/e-)mail me their SVGADATA.PMI files? I already have my own (S3-868), but I'd like to have more samples. Specifically: - Matrox Millenium - Cirrus Logic (all chips) - Tseng ET4000/ET6000 - Trident 8900C - any other video chipset Based on these I might be able to make tweaking program or editor for the .PMI files. ---* Origin: By myself but not alone...
