RW>>> Without the 2nd amendment, the rest would have been gone a long RW>>> time ago. PL>> Even with it, some are still vanishing. RW> The BORs and it's amendment count is the same as it was right after RW> the RW> last amendment. None have vanished. They're still on paper, but not being followed as they should. PL>>>> They can -try- to -disarm- this citizen... they'll need a SWAT team PL>>>> though. RW>>> BATFE says otherwise...don't be surprised if they wake you in the RW>>> middle RW>>> of the night. PL>> This -is- a concern. All my eggs are not in one basket though. RW> There was an instance of that in San Diego a few years ago. The RW> resident RW> used a firearm and defended his family and home, only to be shot RW> down by RW> BATF agents. Fortunately, he lived thorugh it and, since the BATF RW> was RW> going by a tip from an informer who got the wrong house, he's now a RW> very RW> rich man. Very fortunate for him. WHat was the extent of his injuries. PL>> This isn't a -big- city, but the cops here can definately be out of PL>> control sometimes. RW> Ya know, I see an awful lot of 'police action' that gets reported RW> daily in RW> the local rag, but I've never seen anyone pulled over...odd that. Oh, I see it around here. Getting pulled over in this town can raise some definate fears in the person being pulled over, even if only for a minor infraction. It seems NOTHING is minor to the SPD anymore and all stops seem like a combination of a felony stop and an interrigation by the KGB. My uncle, retired NYPD, tells me that even 20 years ago that the "reputation" of the SPD was out there, and they weren't respected by members of other law enforcement agancies AT ALL. It has since gotten worse. Only a couple of short years ago there was talk about actually disbanding ENTIRELY the SPD and pulling the State Police in while a new force was rebuilt from scratch. That seems to have all been swept under the rug lately though.
