Hello ALL
Can anyone help with a wiring problem I am having?
My 1952 chevy panel truck currently has a single taillight housing
mounted on one of the rear doors with a tail lamp and a brake
lamp (dual filament bulb). The signal lights are independently mounted
under the bumper and has a single wire from a relay under the dash to
the single filament bulb of the directional light. (This truck never
had rear signals)
I want to add another housing on the opposite door with the same dual
filament bulb and run the directional wires to the left and the right
door mounted housings.
I attempted to splice the directional wire (left side) to the tail
light wire and tried the directional light. It worked fine as did the
brake light. However when I turned on the headlights with the
directional light blinking , the blinking stopped and t he tail light
was on. (I can only have one or the other.)
So then I undid the splice and re spliced into the brake lamp wire.
Turned the signal light on and it worked as did the tail lamp. But when
I hit the brake pedal the directional light stopped blinking.
What am I doing wrong????
Any help is appreciated.
Sincerely David
