You're no doubt talking about Steve Winter (who fortunately is no longer a
FidoNet Node.)  And again, you're right, George was quite tired of the BS
and ready to quit; and did so about 1999 or 2000 (at best recollection).
He, IIRC, was already running a successful ISP, PAOnline. (Not certain
about that though.)
