       there is an English satirical show called DEAD RINGERS
where actors imitate politicians and most of it goes over my head, but
the guy who does George Dubya is a dead ringer for him. He's got the
sly and vacant look down pat...

 Anyway, instead of saying "My fellow Americans" he says, "My fellow
pelicans..."

 Now, I can't see Dubya without rolling on the floor laughing. One of
these days, he'll say it! One of these days, the teleprompter will be
attacked by Al Qaeda, and he'll say it!

 That's the trouble with bloody terrorists... no sense of humour. Can
you imagine the damage they could cause? Wall Street would collapse,
the price of oil would soar, they'd have to impeach Dubya.

 My fellow pelicans... 

 BTW, I *love* the latest Spin they're putting on the Iraqi patriots
trying to drive Amefrican invaders out... insurgents! 

 How can you rise up against established authority where there is
*no* established authority, just invaders? The Americans are the
insurgents, but it sounds better to call them that, rather than
what they are: The Resistance, patriots, freedom-fighters... and
they're getting better at killing Americans, too.

 Why do I keep thinking this is so much like Vietnam in 1963, with
ten years and a hundred-thousand body bags to go?
