Apart from Spot, DOpus and CEd, I can't MO> think MO> of anything off hand that you'd want to run on a clown. I saw a demo of UAE today, at the Amiga User's Group at Moorabbin. There was a Dos version running on a Pentium 120 and a unix version running on a 486DX2-66. The Dos one on the Pentium was crashing all the time, though while it was working it seemed to more or less have the speed of an ordinary A500. The Unix one was more reliable, but slow. It was like an A4000 running Window$ through PC-task. Problems identified include: No Amiga floppy emulation (impossible on PC hardware), ECS only (no current plans for AGA versions), 68000 only, long file names on Unix version only (that would totally cripple an MS-Dos version)....there were others I don't remember. Unfortunately the guy demoing it took a long time to get it set up on his machine, and he did not have time to transfer over to the PC's hard disk, some appropriate software to use with it. We did, however display a JPEG using ViewTek, and it took some 10-15 minutes to get a horrible 16 colour image on the screen. I think it needs a lot more work....and a Pentium Pro 200 to make it useful.
