It's 24 Nov 97 01:37:00,
We'll return to George Flatman and Tony Langdon's
discussion of W95 browsing Warp Con
 GF> i have a question for you guys here i have 2 os/2 warp 4.0 systems and
GF> i was wondering if if i set up win95 or 98 can i connect it to the
GF> network and if so how are is it?
Sure, no problem. The trickiest part is coming to terms with the
different terminology used by each OS. :-)
I've networked the following OS's together over a WAN (there's a PPP
link in the middle :) ).
OS/2 Warp Connect
Win 95
Win 4 Workgroups
DOS
Windows NT 4
Linux (using Samba for the server and the kernel smbfs support with
smbmount as the client).
No problems, except for some minor browsing problems (easily worked
around with NET USE commands :) ).
... If the phone doesn't ring, it's me.
