> Hi, > I am having problems with "The Pawn Shop" IGM and possibly the same problem >with The GemTrader IGM, basically, if a player enters the IGM and exits, he is >dead gone zero experience, zero gold in bank zero everthing, he is erased from > the game. Russell, I am unable to reproduce the problem you refer to, using either Gem Trader v2.20 or Pawn Shop v3.40. Are those the versions you are using? If not, please update your Lord game to use the correct, current version and let me know if the problem re-occurs. You can download the two igms from the following web-site page: http://www.fidotel.com/public/camelot/lordapps.htm If you are perhaps unable to access my web-site, try downloading the archives from the Lordfile directory of the Camelot LordNews FDN, located at http://www.filegate.net/camelot/ - You will need to include the ending backslash in the URL. I entered both igms then immediately exited. Nothing happened to the player's Experience, Gold in Bank, and other stats. I have a feeling your problem may be related to playing LORD under Linux. If that turns out to be the case, I'll have to turn the problem over to one of my Lord author friends who can do testing under the Linux operating system. There are however at least two glitches I can fix in Pawn Shop, so I will plan on reopening it for new development in January. The first glitch has been solved in the two angel-based igms I have in progress. By default, the ANGEL toolkit does not appear to allow games to have values for BBS Time Left in excess of 180 minutes. So if you enter the IGM with 900 minutes left from LORD, your bbs time left immediately gets reset downward to 180 minutes. According to Marty Blankenship, that is happening with other bbs door games that use ANGEL toolkit. The other glitch is that for some reason the IGM fails to reset any negative stats such as Gems during igm entry. So if you try to make a gems purchase, for example, the igm fails to let you buy any gems. For second example of code affected by that glitch, there is the Resurrect Dead Warriors event handled by Wendy. Even if you have enough gold to pay for the purchase, it won't be allowed if you have negative Gems. I'll look into what causes those situations and get them fixed. In meantime, be sure you are using the latest versions of my igms, either official versions or beta versions. I can only fix problems that exist in the current versions. If possible, using the same Lord files setup you currently have, try to reproduce the problems playing LORD in local mode, after booting your system from a dos start-up disk without the linux o/s being in use. I'm not into linux, so I don't know if that is possible. But if it is, and the problem does not re-occur under that setup, it would indicate a strong likelihood that Lord does not run well under Linux. And I am assuming you are using DOS Lord, since Lord/x's beta does not run igms yet. So get back to me in email when you can with all information you can supply.
