My monitor doesn't do PVP-OPM so the DRM blanks high def video with one
media player and reduces the quality with another. That's why it's playing
with WMP and blanking the screen with MPC.

Your computer probably does support the high def copy protection so you
aren't experiencing the DRM limitation.

Doesn't appear to be a way to confirm that DRM is doing anything, it just
does it with no warning and no explanation.

   I found a machine on which to try "media player classic".  I played the
1080p version of robotica.  It worked like a champ and looked the same as
it did when I played it in WMP.
