Hi Tom!
-> RA> This letter is specifically to our lovely moderator, Bonnie. RA>
-> I can't believe that you would generalize all car audio RA>
-> enthusiastes as bass hounds. I am insulted. It was a deqrading
-> comment RA> and considering that it came from someone in your
-> position, totally RA> inappropriate. Do you really know of the
-> challenges involved with RA> building a competition quality vehicle?
-> Apparently not, or you wouldn't RA> be so quick to chastize.
-> I don't think Bonnie needs anyone to come to her defense - I've seen
-> some of her excellent retorts, but you should know that not everyone
-> agrees with YOUR viewpoint that competition audio is a thing of
-> beauty. It requires a fat wallet, skill and devotion, but not
-> necessarily a good ear. Bonnie gets paid good bux for her good ear
-> (as do I - sometimes). Do you see why there is a rift?
Thanks for coming to my aid, Tom, but this is old news to the echo,
now. Glad to see you picking up where you left off though! Chivalry is
still alive. I think that RA and I have reached a concensus though. I
was being harsh on the thumpmobiles, since being incommunicado for a
month caused the echo to get into such lax condition with comments like
you mentioned which caused me to cut loose with my comments which got RA
upset with me for not understanding his plight and fight in getting
anything decent out of a car stereo. I think he came to the echo while I
was offline here, so many not be aware of my background or history of
comments here when responding.
In the online world, one must be evenhanded (difficult at times) and
regardless of expertise or qualifications expect to be challanged and
misunderstood for even a single phrase of an otherwise award winning
message. I'm used to it, it's life, especially to a female audio
engineer. I also realized long ago (during the CB craze where everyone
became instant experts in "tweaking" transmit power by detuning reciever
IF strips) that anyone that owns a sound system purchased almost
anywhere but K-Mart will sooner or later exhibit ego stroking
techiniques about audio expertise to someone needing help. Some of us
even make a little money doing so which further confuses the issue and
deception of really being an industry mover. Hell, I'm so important I
moderate this echo. So much for work, can't get the head through the
front door now!
